Parent/Carer Information and Agreement

Parents/ Carers are required to stay throughout our sessions and many of them enjoy joining in the activities too!

What we expect of the attending grown ups

Please remember that you are responsible for your own child/children at all times.

Whilst it’s lovely for parents/carers to chat, please keep an eye on them at the same time.

Parents should support their children to listen to, and follow, our 3 Golden Rules which are ‘Be kind to others, be kind to ourselves and be kind to nature.’

Please ensure that your child does not use their mobile phone and that they are kept in a safe place.

It is great for parents/carers to take photos of their own children, but please make sure that other children are not in the photo.

Please respect our beautiful forest and the wildlife who live there.

Please respect our equipment and our resources (i.e. books, pens, tools)

Health and Safety

I understand that I must not allow my child to wander out of range and that I must know where they are at all times.

I understand that my child should not throw sticks, stones and other objects and will speak to my child about this if it happens.

I will ensure that my child is wearing appropriate clothing i.e. closed shoes/wellies and trousers to protect from ticks and brambles.

I will support my child to listen to Karen’s safety instructions when using tools.

I will ensure my child does not take tools/other items from the boxes without asking permission and ensure that they hand them back after use.

I will support my child to listen and follow the fire safety rules and to not run/jump inside the fire circle when the fire has been lit.

I will advise Karen of any allergies, special educational needs or relevant medical needs. (Children who carry Epipens are advised to bring a minimum of two due to the location of the woodland.)
